Post DA11 vs. DA2002 Gold
I will be receiving my DA11 in a day or two and am excited to try it out. I am not a gear-whore -- just constantly curious. There is a big price differential between the DA11 and the DA2002 ... Curious to know how MUCH better the DA2002 is -- practically and subjectively. If you could shed some light on the specifications and bits and pieces that make the DA2002 sound better, that would also be much appreciated.

Also, realizing you are not going to share proprietary design information, could you please let us know if you use DAC chips from 3rd parties or if you have your own proprietary design? Thanks in advance!

I answered that question many times. Here is one example of my answer:

Thanks Dan, and sorry .... I should have spent a little more time digging around. I appreciate the link, though!

Have DA2002/ DA924 "WC input/output" for synchronization?
Thanks.

The answer is "no," because Word Clock connections are subject to jitter much like an AES or SPDIF signal. Because any external sync signal contains jitter, there is no real advantage to having a Word Clock input on a DA converter like the DA2002 or DA924 that has excellent jitter rejection built into the digital audio input.

Many source devices that could be used with the DA2002 or DA924 do not have Word Clock connections, so a having Word Clock input/output would only complicate the design and add to the cost, without offering any real advantage. Any device that is synchronized to a system Word Clock will have an AES or SPDIF output that is synchronized to the Word Clock. If such a device is connected to the DA2002 or DA924, it will effectively synchronize the DA converter to the system Word Clock.

Thak you Brad for your answers, very interesting!
But I prefered construction with through synchronize from DAC Master-Clock for source.
Of course its more expencive but very good for sound especially for HiRes 96(88,2)/24-192(176,4)/24. I see solutions on RS-485 or SPDIF-Loop (very good for RME 9632).
For CD (44.1/16) through synchronize is overkill.
